Tom Holland spoke about the future of the film series Spider-Manstating that he “always” wants to make other films, but that at the same time it is essential for him to be offered a story that is suitable for the character, before agreeing to return to playing Spider-Man.
“The simple answer is that I will always want to make Spider-Man movies,” Holland told Deadline. “I owe my life and my career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I will always want to do more.”
Holland also revealed that a team made up of “best in the industry” is currently thinking about what the new story dedicated to Spider-Man could be.
Spider-Man's legacy must be protected
Holland said he wanted it first protect the legacy of the Spider-Man series.
“Until we have a proper new history, we have a legacy to protect,” he said. “The third film was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we are doing the right thing“.
Holland then added that, for the first time in the Spider-Man series, he has been involved in the creative process “since the beginning” and is having fun. “It's just a process of observing and learning.
