The game was announced by Paradox Interactive in January and its release was first scheduled for March, then it was postponed to May, finally, with this further change of plan, moved to the beginning of September, and at this point we hope it will be of the final date.
The motivation behind this further postponement is the classic one, that is, to be able to guarantee an adequate level of quality for a sequel that is definitely awaited by a good number of players, considering the success achieved by the first chapter.
Technical problems to solve
“Recently, we met some stability problems during testing on our latest version of the game that surfaced too often, especially on lower configurations,” Paradox reported, explaining the reason for the second postponement.
“Once we identified the issue, we immediately began improving Prison Architect 2's use of memory to address the issue. Overall, the work was successful, and we're seeing big improvements even on higher-end machines. bass and on the consoles”.
However, these changes have triggered a series of knock-on effects such as possible crashes and the need to slightly revise the entire software version, which has necessarily lengthened development times.
