Between 22 and 26 April 2024, the European Commission will be present at the Hannover Messe, one of the largest industrial fairs in the world, to underline the importance of strengthening the EU's industrial competitiveness in the global economic scenario. The first day of the fair includes a conference, followed by presentations and round tables in the stand auditorium, which will be dedicated to a different theme each day. In this third consecutive year at the fair, the EU stand will also feature a support corner, where attendees will have the opportunity to talk to experts in order to find out which industry-related policies will be put in place and their associated financing opportunities.
The second day will be dedicated to European Energy Day. With the title “
Clean, accessible and safe energy” and with the participation of the Deputy Director General of the Energy DG Mechthild Wörsdörfe
r, the one-day conference will cover a wide range of topics and formats. Starting with an opening panel that provides insights into the EU policy framework and its industrial competitiveness in the energy sector, subsequent sessions will delve into specific policy areas and initiatives.
These include discussions on: European Wind Energy Package, European Grids Action Plan, biomethane, hydrogen, solar energy, sustainable batteries.
A session dedicated to energy efficiency will also provide the opportunity to present and explain the benefits of a new voluntary initiative, the “Code of Practice on Interoperable Smart Energy Appliances”.
Each of the 8 sessions of the European Energy Day will be streamed on the DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs website.
