Development studio Slipgate Ironworks and publisher 3D Realms have released a new video of the imminent Phantom Fury (will be available starting April 23), in which they explain the fundamental elements of the game. For those who don't know it, it's a boomer shooter, that is, an old-fashioned first-person shooter both in terms of gameplay and graphics.
Bombshell
In the video it is stated that Phantom Fury will offer a explosive storytelling and a 90s action movie-like experience.
Players will visit a variety of locations: fight in seedy hotels in Albuquerque, explore abandoned facilities in Los Alamos, and conquer Chicago. The narrative universe is that of Ion Fury, considering that the protagonist is always Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison. In any case, we are talking about a spin-off and not a real sequel.
The models followed for the game are naturally the Classic FPS, like Half-Life and Sin. Among the weapons there are familiar ones like the Loverboy and Shelly's bowling bomb, but there are also new ones like the double shotgun. However, the experience will be customizable with defensive and offensive upgrades. You will also be able to interact with the environment, including computers to hack and various objects to use.
The first version to come out will be that PC. Console versions will follow at a later date.
