Orihuela also wants to be a fashion reference and, last night, local businesses came together to take a first step. The ground floor of La Lonja transformed into a glamorous catwalk and hosted the first 'Orihuela Fashion Night'. The event promoted by the Association of Merchants and Hoteliers ACMO also had a luxury protagonist. Already hard at work guiding models through the Torrevieja Weekend, Bigastrense designer Eduardo Navarrete took the reins of this brilliant display of color and good taste.
With the collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Orihuela City Council and in order to boost local commerce, more than 30 associated establishments were the first to step onto the carpet to exhibit their fashion and gastronomy proposals.
“This initiative aims to value local commerce, since it is a fundamental pillar of our municipality and we want to improve year after year,” says the president of the Oriolano merchants, Ascensio Pérez, who was previously releasing on social networks. , like pills and one by one all the surprises that awaited this first big night of styling.
And if someone did not come attracted by Navarrete's claim, they were surely captivated by the other artists who accompanied him. Thus, the 'Fashion Night' also brought together the best of the local music scene with the presence of the famous musical group Varry Brava, the singer Carolina Reymundo and the king of all the tinglaos in Orihuela, DJ Arnicoco.
With that magnificent musical finale, ACMO also presented four very special recognitions to notable Oriolanos from the world of commerce, hospitality and services. They were Capritx Home, Makai Café and the Mimos Children's School. Although very emotional, the award went to Calzados Consuelo, the legendary shoe store that closed its doors for retirement last February after many decades of history.
