Some photos on a worker's Facebook profile could capture important details for the investigation into the explosion at the Bargi power plant.
The tragic explosion of Bargi power station is one of the hottest topics of the last few hours. Three lives were lost in an accident that shocked not only the families of the victims, but the entire community. Diego Ottonello, one of the technicians at Mele's Engineering Automations, brought out details of the tragedy through his publications on Facebook. The photo which he shared show the Suviana plant in a moment of activity.
While the Prosecutor's Office opens a case for disaster and manslaughter, the unions express their anger and concern at the lack of safety interventions. The words of the UIL and the CGIL underline the gravity of the situation and the need to shed light on what happened and who is really responsible for it.
It is clear that it is a system problem, probably linked to an extraordinary maintenance intervention, such as changing a car turbine. In a hydroelectric power plant this is certainly not an easy job, especially considering the enormous water pressures involved.
Ottonello declares that he was not present at the outbreak because he is currently on sick leave due to an accident that occurred outside of work. He knows the power station well where he had gone several times to take care of electrical systems and panels. He was always accompanied by the owner Mario Pisani, the eldest who died in the disaster. Among the photos there are also some shots with Vincenzo Franchina, a 46-year-old industrial electrician, also died inside the power plant. Pavel Petronel Tanase the other confirmed victim.
While the families of the fallen search for answers and justice, the community rallies around them to show solidarity. It is important that tragedies like these are not forgotten, but that they serve as a warning to ensure maximum safety in the workplace.
