Tameem Antoniades has spoken for the first time of his goodbye to Ninja Theoryconfirmed only in recent days by a Microsoft spokesperson but actually occurred some time ago, probably in 2021.
“Apparently now you know: yes, I have left Ninja Theory, the company I founded and creatively led for twenty years,” Antoniades wrote in his latest story on Instagram.
“Exhausted, proud and satisfied, I was ready to step back after Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, but I stayed for another two years to make sure the foundation was solid and capable of supporting our vision of creating the mix of extraordinary art and extraordinary technology which you will soon see in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.”
“I will forever be proud and grateful for the Ninja, and I want the world to know that Ninja Theory is doing well and is in the best possible hands. A huge thank you to Microsoft for taking care of this baby and allowing us to grow into who we are. As for me, whatever I do in the future I will remain a Ninja forever.”
One last contribution with Hellblade 2
Also in his Instagram stories, Antoniades published some sequences from Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, writing that it is thelast game he worked onspecifically as game director and screenwriter.
After that, as already reported, its creative leadership was taken over by three other members of Ninja Theory: the environment art director Dan Attwell, the visual effects director Mark Slater-Tunstill and the audio director David Garcia.
