Flavio Briatore had disappeared from social media for a few days and yesterday the former Renault team principal explained the reason directly. In fact, about ten days ago he discovered that he had a tumor, fortunately benign, in his heart.
The Piedmontese manager released a video on his social media channels to tell his story, underlining the importance of prevention. He explained, in fact, that he discovered the presence of the tumor thanks to a routine check-up, which allowed him to have a timely diagnosis.
“Today I want to talk to you about prevention. Ten days ago I went to San Raffaele for a routine check-up and they found a benign tumor in my heart. They intervened immediately, I'm here to tell you about it. I spent ten days at San Raffaele , disappeared from all social media”, said Briatore, who then reserved special thanks to his ex-wife Elisabetta Gregoraci.
“I have to thank the doctors at San Raffaele. They were brilliant, I have to thank Elisabetta Gregoraci who was with me throughout this period; she came to visit me from Monaco. I had all my friends close by,” he added.
Flavio then invited everyone to keep themselves monitored as much as possible: “One important thing is that we must control ourselves and not neglect ourselves. I had this check done two years ago and I had nothing, while now they have found this thing on me. But now luckily I am here and tomorrow we start again”.
“Medical prevention is essential. Following a routine check-up, I underwent heart surgery as I had a benign mass which was removed with a minimally invasive operation, using an endoscopic technique. The operation was perfectly successful, and I I warmly thank Prof. Francesco Maisano, the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Team and the legendary 1st Q Department of San Raffaele”, he concluded.
