There are no easily understandable official communications yet, but based on a report from a recent financial conference held in NCSoftit seems that Guild Wars 3 is in development at AnrenaNetwaiting for more precise announcements.
In a document still in Korean, perhaps translated in an imprecise manner, it seems that the president of NCsoft, Park Byeong-moo, referred to the existence of Guild Wars 3 as an active project, in development by ArenaNet and therefore on the way in the next future.
Apparently, the matter cannot yet be disclosed and the game is not ready for an official presentation to the public, but it seems that the series is destined to continue beyond the second chapter, now released 12 years ago.
The return of the Korean MMORPG?
“ArenaNet owns a intellectual property of great importance called Guild Wars,” Byeong-moo reportedly said during the financial conference, “and went through Guild Wars 2, with development of Guild Wars 3 underway.
“If you look at this business, it's very competitive. It's not fully profitable, but you can see how it has grown in terms of competitiveness.” It's not yet clear what all this means, but a Guild Wars 3 could be possible.
Originally released in 2012, the MMORPG in question followed the excellent start of the previous chapter and elaborated every aspect, from the structure to the combat system, in a more advanced way. At this point we await any clearer information on this matter.
