Coffee Stain Publishing, the division of the company that became famous with Goat Simulator that now publishes the games, has announced a new title from its upcoming catalogue, entitled As We Descend and characterized by a structure that mixes the card game type deckbuilder and the roguelike.
As we have seen in other cases, this is a potentially explosive combination of elements, given that other similar games have had considerable success, starting with Slay the Spire. As We Descend should also share characteristics of the genre, with a theme set on progression into the depths of the earth.
As We Descend, says the publisher, is a strategic roguelike deckbuilder in which players must help build the destiny of a civilization as it progresses towards the depths of the earth.
A potentially explosive mix of elements
“Play your cards right and balance the will of the city's leaders with the demands of the battlefield, and the city may survive its descent with its humanity intact,” the description reads.
This is the indie team's first work Box Dragonwelcomed under the wing of Coffee Stain who, evidently, was favorably impressed by this debut project of his.
