Juventus-Atalanta 2-2, Koopmeiners slows down the Bianconeri
Juventus is unable to overtake Milan who today overtook them in second place: a hard-fought draw against Atalanta who were guests in Turin, the final draw 2-2. The Goddess, on the other hand, has Roma at 47 points in the standings and also sees the Champions League, awaiting the result between Fiorentina and the Giallorossi this evening. Shot by Chiesa in the 5th minute from a free kick, the ball well above the goal. In the 13th minute Chiesa is still the protagonist but with an assist for Miretti who heads the goal well, Carnesecchi saves it in flight. Chiesa again under the spotlight, with a central shot in the 23rd minute, Carnesecchi saves again. In the 30th minute it was Milik's turn to worry Atalanta, his shot went far from the left post. Great commitment from Juventus but it was Atalanta who broke the deadlock with Koopmeiners in the 35th minute, an assist from Pasalic and a left-footed shot into the top right corner of Sczcesny's goal. No recovery.
In the second half, Chiesa was still forward, in the 50th minute, low to the right corner, Carnesecchi opposed this time too, and in any case Milik was offside. Scamacca worries Juventus in the 56th minute but Sczcesny dives and stops the low shot. Immediately afterwards Scamacca leaves the field and Lookman comes on and tries a shot in the 62nd minute but the ball goes wide. Juventus equalized in the 65th minute with an action set up by McKennie who passed to Cambiaso, centrally from close range. Atalanta substitution: Hateboer and Toloi for Zappacosta and Scalvini.
Juventus again went forward and the second goal arrived in the 69th minute, a game overturned by Milik and McKennie again provided the assist. Atalanta lights up and just 4 minutes after the Juventus lead Koopmeiners triggered by Djmsiti brings the situation back to parity with a great angled left foot into the area that Szczesny only comes close to. Allegri orders a double substitution in the 76th minute: Nicolussi Caviglia and Kean for Miretti and Milik, and another double five minutes later: Alex Sandro and Weah for Cambiaso and Iling-Junior. Atalanta changes: Miranchuk and Bakker for De Ketelaere and Ruggeri. Last Juventus substitution: Yildiz for McKennie. Four minutes of added time.
Milan beats Empoli 1-0 and overtakes Juventus in the standings, Pulisic decides
Milan beat Empoli 1-0 at San Siro and regains second place in the standings, overtaking Juventus by two points who host Atalanta at 6pm today. Pulisic's first-half goal decided the match. In the 5th minute Pulisic volleys from medium distance, Caprile saves. In the twelfth minute, Pulisic himself crossed slowly towards Okafor, anticipated by Ismajli. In the 19th minute Milan had another opportunity with Loftus-Cheek who shot hard into the centre, once again Ismajli saved. The game broke the deadlock in the 40th minute with Pulisic, also thanks to a deflection by Luperto that shocked Caprile: a possible offside by Okafor was checked at the VAR but the goal was valid. Two minutes of added time.
The second half begins under the sign of substitutions: double substitution for Nicola, Kovalenko for Fazzini and Cacace for Pezzella, triple for Pioli, Chukwueze, Kalulu and Musah inside for Pulisic, Tomori and Reijnders. In the 65th minute Chukwueze shoots from distance, the ball deflects and goes out. In the 73rd minute Giroud comes on for Jovic. Immediately afterwards Caprile saves his goal again after a great shot from Loftus-Cheek. More changes in the Empoli camp: Destro and Cancellieri come in for Niang and Zurkowski. In the 77th minute Okafor throws a ball at Calabria who heads but ends up wide. New substitute Destro came close to equalizing in the 82nd minute but the ball hit the post: he would have been offside anyway. He tries again in the 86th minute, again with his head, Maignan blocks. Four minutes of injury time, with Empoli pressing against a Milan with a lack of tension, and in fact the last field for Pioli with Adli for Okafor. On the edge of the final whistle, great shot by Chukwueze and Caprile saves.
