Three people, a 31-year-old pregnant woman and two men, 21 and 30 years old, respectively, were fatal victims of gunshots in Guatemala City. The event occurred after a great concert Karol G which was attended by thousands of individuals, in Cayalá, an exclusive area of the Central American capital. A 33-year-old suspect, Christian Aroldo Heinemann, was arrested a short time later. He is identified as the alleged perpetrator of the triple murder. The Police seized a 9 millimeter pistol, which he was carrying without the corresponding license.
The crime occurred during the early hours of Sunday, March 3, on Bulevar Austríaco, zone 16 of Guatemala City. This site is very close to the United States Embassy and where Karol G performed his second concert in a row, after a performance on Friday.

What was the crime like at the Karol G concert?
The victims of the incident, Gerson David Barrera and Ángel Estuardo Trujillo, had just left the concert and were heading towards their car when they discovered that their windows had been broken. This led them to confront the man who was supposed to guard his vehicle during the event, a common practice in this type of situation to prevent theft.
The discussion intensified; the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the two men. An errant projectile hit Diana Yasmin Chinchilla, a 31-year-old pregnant woman who was passing by the place with her two children, ages 2 and 11, after having heard the concert from outside. The minors, after witnessing the death of their mother, had to be treated by Volunteer Firefighters due to a nervous breakdown.
The National Civil Police, specifically from Police Station 13, arrested the alleged attacker at 7:25 pm that same Sunday and transferred him to the Court Tower in Guatemala City to begin the judicial process. The arrest and evidence, such as evidence of gunpowder residue, were documented and shared on the Police's social networks to support the investigation led by the Crimes Against Life Prosecutor's Office.

The murderer speaks
After being transferred to a penal facility following his initial statement, the suspect avoided speaking to the press and simply said he had no comment. However, when questioned about the motive for the shooting, he did not deny having fired and confirmed with a “that's right” when asked if he had been the victim of an attempted robbery.
Amid various speculations at the scene, it was suggested that there was alcohol consumption, but the detainee denied being drunk and explained that he defended himself when a group of young people attacked him: (The two deceased?) “Yes, but there were more people “.
When questioned about the alleged vehicle thefts in the area, Heinemann denied any involvement: “I am not related to that.” Although he was aware of the death of a pregnant woman due to a stray bullet, he claimed not to have seen her or know she was there: “I acted in self-defense… I was unaware (of the pregnant woman).”
