Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia renews until 2026
The two-time MotoGP world champion Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia renews his contract with Ducati until the end of 2026. The Borgo Panigale team announced this in an official note. “A few days before the opening of the 2024 MotoGP season, Ducati Corse and Francesco Bagnaia put pen to paper a future together, announcing the signing of the agreement that binds the two-time MotoGP World Champion to the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer also for the seasons 2025 and 2026. The renewal of the contract gives continuity to an all-Italian winning combination: a perfect combination between the technology and performance of the Desmosedici GP and the talent, passion and determination of Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia”.
“Born in Turin in 1997 and resident in Pesaro, Bagnaia joined Ducati with the Pramac Racing team in 2019 and, with the extension of his current contract, he will enter the history of the Borgo Panigale company in an even more decisive manner, becoming the second rider to join Ducati for eight years – we read in the press release – Pecco has highlighted himself in 2020 achieving his first MotoGP podium in his home race at Misano Adriatico and in 2021 he achieved promotion to the official team. In his first year on board the red Ducati Lenovo Team he came close to winning the world title, finishing second in the general classification after an amazing end to the season.

2022 is the year of Bagnaia's consecration, who wins his first riders' title in MotoGP, also becoming the first Italian to do it with an Italian motorcycle: the Desmosedici GP. This is also the second world riders' title for Ducati, after the one won by Casey Stoner in 2007, 15 years earlier. With the number 1 on the top fairing, Pecco confirms himself as World Champion again in 2023 thanks to another exciting season, characterized by 15 podiums, 7 victories and 7 pole positions.”
Bagnaia, 'very happy to be able to continue racing with Ducati, it's a pride'
“I'm very happy to be able to continue racing with my dream team! Wearing these colors is an honor for me. It's fantastic and a source of pride. Together with Ducati, my team and all the guys at Ducati Corse we have managed to do some incredible things and in these other three years (including 2024) that await us together, we will continue to give our best to try to achieve as many successes. I'm very happy and ready to get on track in a few days in Qatar for the first race of the year.” These are the words of Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia in the Ducati press release, after the renewal until 2026 with the Borgo Panigale team.
Domenicali, 'Bagnaia is the perfect rider for Ducati'
“Pecco is truly the perfect rider for Ducati. It best represents our values, style, elegance, performance. Not only is he fast, determined, tenacious on the track but he stands out for his elegance and education off the track. I am very happy with this renewal which I am sure Ducatisti from all over the world will welcome with enthusiasm.” These are the words of Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, after Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia's renewal until 2026 with the Borgo Panigale team.
Dall'Igna, 'Bagnaia in perfect harmony with Ducati, natural to continue with him'
“We are extremely happy to have Bagnaia with us also for 2025 and 2026. Together we wrote an important page in the history of motorcycling: Pecco was the first Italian rider to win a world title in MotoGP with an Italian motorcycle, our Desmosedici GP. Together we brought back to Bologna a world drivers' title that had been missing for 15 years and we achieved it again last year. He is a two-time World Champion and has shown on more than one occasion that he truly deserves the number 1 on the fairing of his bike. In addition to these results, Bagnaia continues to demonstrate that he is in perfect harmony with his bike and his team. For all these reasons, it was natural for us to want to continue with him. We therefore look forward to starting this new chapter together, confident that we can achieve other important goals.” Luigi Dall'Igna, General Director of Ducati Corse, comments on Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia's renewal until 2026 with the Borgo Panigale team
