YOU CAN SEE: 'I am Betty, the ugly one': 4 curiosities that occurred during the recordings of the Colombian series
—How did the idea to get together start? 'The Red Divan' and when will it premiere in Peru?
—Natalia Ramirez: 'The Red Divan' was the first work that Fernando Gaitán wrote. When he dies, they tell us if we want to produce it and release it. This project already had several seasons and now they wanted to resume it to leave a legacy. For this reason, we agreed and made this very special montage.
We have been working on the work for five years, we were in Colombia, Mexico, Chile and last year in Peru. Now we return and the premiere will be March 9 in it Peruvian Japanese Theater and the tickets are in Teleticket. We have two shows that same day, so you can't miss it.
YOU CAN SEE: 'Ugly Betty', sequel to iconic soap opera for 2024
—You have recorded a third season of the series 'Yo soy Betty, la fea', when will it premiere?
—Julio César Herrera: We can't tell you much, but the premiere will be this year 2024 and you will be able to enjoy it for Prime Video. So for those who don't have this platform, go look for it because you're going to have fun.
—How has the reunion been with your former colleagues from 'Yo soy Betty, la fea' after the recordings?
—Julio César Herrera: We have always remained in contact, that has not been lost. As we have said several times, this is a very good dysfunctional family like any other. So you will be able to continue having fun when you see this that we have made for you with a lot of love.
—How do you separate the fame you achieved thanks to 'Yo soy Betty, la fea' with these new acting projects?
—Natalia Ramirez: When people come to the theater, maybe they wait to see 'Marcela', 'La Peliteñida' and 'Freddy'—characters from 'I am Betty the Ugly one'— and maybe that happens in the first minute. However, then those new characters, Karla Santamaría, Luis Mario Dávila and the one I play, end up conquering the public in a different way and begin to get into a story totally different from what it was. 'Betty'.
—Julio César Herrera: Let's say that fame and things like that have to be put aside because in the end it doesn't allow you to work. So, if one starts to stop at that, and not at what is really essential, then there is no progress.
—Is there anything in common between the characters you play in fiction with your personality in real life?
—Julio César Herrera: There are good and bad demons. Many of them come to light, sometimes with the characters.
—Lorna Cepeda: But you always leave a little soul in each character, really.
—Natalia Ramirez: One ends up lending many things to the characters, not just 'Marcela', 'Eugenia'. She always ends up having one's things.
—What expectations do you have after the premiere of 'The Red Divan' in Peru?
—Lorna Cepeda: The expectation we always have is that people have fun because this is a romantic comedy, quite peculiar and on top of that I leave you a message. Because we really always do it with a lot of love, so we want people to also receive it in this same way.
—Natalia Ramirez: That couples can go because not only are they going to laugh, but it is a starting point for conversation about difficult topics as a couple that are difficult to say. The work 'The Red Divan' lends itself to this opening.
