A list of stars has announced the organization of the BAFTA Awards for this Sunday. The group of presenters of the so-called 'English Oscars' are joined by the singer Dua Lipa, the famous actress Cate Blanchett and the former soccer player and one of the owners of Inter Miami, David Beckham. “Hannah Waddingham will deliver an exclusive live music performance, plus Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will perform her iconic hit 'Murder on the Dancefloor',” the British Academy said. “With presenter David Tennant bringing his own charm and charisma to the ceremony.”
The ceremony will take place at the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Center in London. Unlike other awards, this time Barbie will not compete with Oppenheimer for best film, since Greta Gerwig's film is not nominated. Along with Christopher Nolan's film, they propose The Moon Killers, Poor Creatures, Anatomy of a Fall and Those Who Stay. In addition to Nolan, only the directors of the last two are nominated for the BAFTA for best director: Justine Triet and Alexander Payne.
Among those in attendance will be Saltburn star Barry Keoghan, Maestro actors Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan, Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy and filmmakers Gerwig, Nolan, Celine Song (of Past Lives) and Yorgos Lanthimos (of Poor Creatures).

“The star-studded three-hour ceremony will, as usual, be shortened by one hour to last 120 minutes. It will also be available to watch on the BBC's streaming service (for South America), iPlayer, and internationally on the BritBox streamer,” says Variety. The producers of the 2024 BAFTA Awards confirmed that they will not broadcast the final four categories live this year.
As for the presenters, in addition to Blanchett (winner of four BAFTAs: best actress for Elizabeth, Blue Jasmine, Tár and best supporting actress for The Aviator), among the names confirmed to present the awards are the actress who played Lady Di in 'The Crown', Emma Corrin, Gillian Anderson, Hugh Grant and Lily Collins from 'Emily in Paris'.
