Are you a fan of China, but don't want a Chinese car? Then this is the car you need.
Many brands promote the country they come from. Consider, for example, the British flag in the taillights of a Mini (even though a German flag would be more appropriate), or the label with a Swedish flag in a Volvo. You see this a lot less with Chinese brands. In a BYD or a Nio you will not see any Chinese flags or other Chinese symbols.
We now have a car in front of us that is overloaded with Chinese symbols, but this is a car that does not come from China. This is the Range Rover Dragon Edition from Overfinch. A British car, which has been overhauled by a British tuner.
The special edition is inspired by the Chinese New Year, which starts this week (the Chinese are a bit behind on that point). According to Chinese astrology, 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. This theme apparently appeals to the British, because Rolls-Royce also came up with four dragon cars.
Overfinch takes a less subtle approach than Rolls-Royce: the dragon theme is very prominent in the interior. Complete dragons can be seen in several places and the chairs are completely covered with a scale pattern. We don't have to explain what the Chinese character on the headrests means.
It is mainly the interior that makes this Range Rover special, but the rims are also worth mentioning. These are brand new 24-inch honeycomb rims from Overfinch, which have been decorated for the occasion with – you guessed it – a dragon. Furthermore, the car is equipped with the body kit that we already know from Overfinch.
The Range Rover Dragon Edition is built in a limited edition of eight units. You don't have to be Chinese to buy one, because Overfinch emphasizes that the Dragon Edition is available worldwide. Although you will have to have some affinity with China if you want to order such a car.
