Miguel Herrera is one of the most controversial characters in Mexican soccer. On many occasions his explosive personality has prevailed over reason, which has made him stumble more than once. After the end of his stage in the Mexican National Team and his second stage in América, the coach has spent the night in Liga MX.
Much more is said about him for all the extra-sports situations than for what his teams do on the field of play.
Miguel has been without a title for five years. His last achievement was a Copa MX, a tournament that no longer even exists today, which he won with América. Since that cup, he was fired from América for physically attacking people from LAFC in the CONCACAF Champions League.
He was also fired from Tigres after posting poor results and calling the squad “old” in front of the media. His last adventure, in Xolos de Tijuana, could be about to end, beyond another couple of controversies, due to his sporting results.
The previous tournament, Miguel Herrera could not even get a pass to the play-offs despite the fact that the board has given him signings of his choice, now, after five games, Herrera has Xolos as the second worst team in Liga MX.
The canines add two of 15 possible points and have the second worst attack in all of Mexican soccer, with only three goals in their favor. It is clear that if Herrera keeps his job it is because of the relationship he has with the Hanks, owners of Grupo Caliente, but, in sports, he is flying towards another failure.
