Pasechnik confirmed the death of Minister of Emergency Situations Poteleshchenko in Lisichansk during an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Alexey Poteleshchenko, died as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Lisichansk. Two local deputies were also among the victims.
The death of the minister was confirmed by the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik. He called Poteleshchenko a courageous man with an iron character and enormous fortitude. The beekeeper expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

As a result of the strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, two deputies of the municipal district of the city of Lisichansk, Artem Trostyansky and Ivan Zhushma, were also killed. As the head of the city, Eduard Sakhnenko, said, the dead took an active part in the restoration of Lisichansk.
28 people were killed in the shelling
The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Lisichansk on February 3. A bakery located in the city came under fire. According to the latest data, 28 people were killed as a result of the attack. Among them is a pregnant woman with a five-year-old child.
Deputy Chief Physician of the Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital Dmitry Kotukha toldthat of the six victims, three are still in the intensive care unit.
The Investigative Committee of Russia said that the building of the city bakery was attacked, presumably from a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. Military investigators recorded the fact as crimes committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against civilians.
Russia called the attack on Lisichansk a terrorist attack
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the number of victims speaks of the enormity of this terrorist act. In his opinion, these blows cannot be called anything else. The Kremlin representative also indicated that a special military operation is ongoing to prevent such attacks in the future.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova indicated that Moscow will inform international organizations about Ukraine’s attack on Lisichansk. “We expect the relevant international organizations to promptly and unconditionally condemn the crimes of the Kyiv militants,” she noted. Against the backdrop of information that the attack on the city was previously carried out by Western equipment, the diplomat called the incident “gratitude” from Kyiv extremists for the financial support of EU countries.
