The die has been cast: after 55% of Parisians voted in favor of the proposal to triple parking rates for heavy cars (which are mistakenly called SUVs but are not SUVs), now comes the blow: the vehicles affected will have to pay 18 euros per hour for parking in the central districts, 12 euros per hour for parking in the peripheral districts.
The measure, according to the project of the municipality of Paris, will affect internal combustion or hybrid cars over 1.6 tons in weight and electric cars over 2 tons. A revolution, also because – for the first time in history – even battery-powered cars are subject to a tax, or rather a surtax, which condemns them as “politically incorrect”, exactly as happens with supercars full of horses.
