Colombia celebrated this Sunday for the achievement of the singer Karol G, who won the Grammy for best urban music album. in the 66th edition of the ceremony that rewards the best of music.
The Medellín-born, prominent urban pop and reggaeton artist, won with her album 'Mañana will be nice', and surpassed the other two nominees: Rauw Alejandro, with 'Saturno', and Tainy, with 'Data'.
Karol G has been a character very close to Colombian sports, not only as a fan, but also with gestures that have allowed him to support practitioners of some disciplines.
His main disciple is the Bogotá driver Tatiana Calderón, whom he sponsored so that she could remain in Formula 2. His car had the name 'Bichota' on the side.
“I started racing in IndyCar and was scheduled to run 12 races with the Charouz Racing System. It had never happened to me to be left without a sponsor, without a car to race in the middle of the season. “I was almost crying at home because there was no opportunity to return, we tried everything and I never imagined that a spot would open up, much less that it would be sponsored by Karol G and everyone who has joined the project,” Calderón explained at the time.
“Beyond being a fan of her music, I am a fan of what she represents as a person, as a woman, as a Colombian, as a Latina. The values that she instills, the union with her family, what she has done for many women, to promote the generations that come after her, that she is never envious of. “I admire her very much,” Tatiana added.
Fan and friend of the Colombian women's national team
Karol G has also publicly expressed herself as a strong supporter of women's soccer and during the participation of the Colombian National Team in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand she gave them several signs of support. And the players returned her attention by sending her a shirt with her name and her number 12 on it.
Upon their return from the tournament, several of the members of the National Team were at a Karol G concert at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, invited by the artist. Some of the attendees were Diana Carolina Ospina, Daniela Montoya, María Camila Reyes, Lorena Bedoya, Sandra Sepúlveda, Carolina Arias and Lady Andrade.
“What a great invitation tonight in Miami. You are an inspiration to all women. We love you crack,” Montoya, team captain, wrote on social media.
