Net change at the top of Supermassive Gamesthe company specializing in cinematic horror games such as Until Dawn, The Quarry and The Dark Pictures Anthology series, with the exit of co-founders Pete and Joe Samuels that they decided to leave the studio.
“After 15 fantastic years, we say goodbye to our founders”, reads an official message published by the team on LinkedIn, “Pete and Joe, thank you for creating the story of Supermassive Games, which we will continue to write”, adding that “the Your legacy at Supermassive will continue, we wish you all the luck in your next chapter!”
We still don't know what the new jobs of both of them will be, but it seems that the choice came, at least on the part of Pete Samuels, from the desire to change and from health reasons.
The new CEO has already been appointed
“After over 15 years As CEO of Supermassive Games, I have made the very difficult decision to step down from my role and the business,” wrote Pete Samuels, “My decision is entirely based on health matters and has not been taken lightly.”
It is clear that the ex-CEO had to step away from his role to dedicate himself to private matters and preserve his health in some way, while remaining “proud” of what he did at the helm of the team together with Joe, who has not yet reported his specific motivations.
The new CEO of Supermassive Games will be Robert Henrysson, former CEO and president of Avalanche Studios, who said he was honored to take on this role at the helm of the team. Supermassive is currently already working on three projects simultaneously with The Casting of Frank Stone, Little Nightmares 3 and Directive 8020.
