The arrival of one State of Play at the end of January it had been widely announced by rumors, tip-offs, indiscretions and so on. After all, it was urgent for Sony to strike a blow, considering the second half of 2023 passed with the handbrake on. However, one wonders what should it show to hit the markconsidering that we are halfway through the generation and that currently, among the three largest console manufacturers, it is the one with the most unknowns for the future in terms of first party.
Many games
Meanwhile it is clear that the exclusive they will not be missed. In recent years, Sony, also thanks to the sales of PS4 and PS5, has worked better than Microsoft with third parties, obtaining more exclusivity contracts for long-awaited and highly anticipated titles.
In fact, in the list of games that could be presented, the result of various rumors (therefore unconfirmed), the third parties that stand out (not all exclusive, mind you) such as Rise of the Ronin, the new game by Team Ninja published by Koei Tecmo (which has an excellent relationship with Sony). Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which will probably be the flagship of the PS5 in the coming months. Death Stranding 2, that is, the confirmation of the importance of a name like that of Kojima to galvanize spirits a little.
Silent Hill 2, a new Metro for PS VR 2 and Judas, all potentially high-level projects, with the first which can count on the appeal of the original, still beloved and considered one of the pinnacles of the horror genre, the second which could move a little the PS5 VR headset scene, which currently appears stale and the third one that has Ken Levine behind it, so it's interesting regardless. There is also talk of a new Sonic, which never hurts in terms of interest, and the presence of Stellar Blade, whose release date should be revealed..
So, if the rumors were confirmed, from the point of view of third parts (and the latter) the State of Play in January could turn out to be really excellent, with many projects to follow in the coming months and beyond. Weaker the rumors about first party projects. For now we are only talking about the presence of the remake of Until Dawn, a beautiful horror from the PS4 era in theory it did not need a new version (unless epochal changes), and that of the live service Concord, which is not Nothing has been seen and everything remains to be verified.
Will these titles be enough to seduce the masses? Consider that we are talking about fifteen total games present, so there could also be some surprises. And you, what else do you expect from the next State of Play?
