The Ajman Police General Command implemented the first unified traffic campaign for the year 2024 for the Ministry of Interior, under the slogan “Safe Driving for Bicyclists,” with the aim of enhancing traffic awareness among this category, by emphasizing the necessity of adhering to instructions and following the necessary procedures for traffic safety on the roads, in order to preserve lives. and property, and achieving safe driving to reduce the occurrence of accidents and serious injuries.
Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Khalifa bin Hindi, identified six measures included in the campaign to maintain the safety of bike drivers. The first: Commitment to implementing traffic laws related to cycling at all stages before and during driving, and the second: Commitment to all due security and safety requirements. Follow them when riding bicycles, which include adhering to designated roads and paths, and their riders respecting traffic laws. Third: wearing a helmet and wearing appropriate clothing and safety tools when riding. Fourth: ensuring the safety of the tires and brakes and the suitability of the bike before riding it. Fifth: adhering to the correct path while riding. Bike on internal and public roads or bicycle paths. Sixth: Do not ride in a way that poses a threat to the life and safety of others.
He added that the campaign came to enhance traffic culture among motorbike, electric and bicycle drivers, with the aim of reducing wrongful phenomena and behaviour, giving all road users their rights to use it to achieve the highest levels of safety, and raising the level of compliance with traffic regulations and laws.
