Pope Francis against surrogacy and gender ideology
Pope Francis, meeting Ambassadors from all over the world in the Vatican at the beginning of the year, said that: «I hope for a commitment from the international community to universally prohibit surrogacy», in the wake of Meloni who made it a universal crime. And then a thermo-nuclear attack on gender ideology: «Unfortunately, the attempts made in recent decades to introduce new rights, not fully consistent with those originally defined and not always acceptable, have given rise to ideological colonisations, including a central role gender theory, which is very dangerous because it erases differences in the claim to make everyone equal. Such ideological colonizations cause wounds and divisions between states, rather than promoting the building of peace.”
But if politically this papal position pleases conservatives – for once – the fact remains that only a few days ago Pope Francis gave the green light to the blessings of gay couples causing a universal tsunami and making up for it with a worse patch than the hole, that is, the blessings must “last very little”. The doctrinal confusion in the Catholic Church is reaching unusual levels: one day one thing is said and the next it is denied and then the swing starts again. One day it opens up to gays and the next the genders are beaten, causing despair and confusion in Peter's flock but above all in the parish priests and bishops who have to concretely administer the territory. One day the Pope wakes up progressive and the next he is reactionary.
Perhaps someone must have pointed out to him that the biblical episode of Sodom and Gomorrah tells different things, perhaps wrongly, but giving all these contradictory and confusing signals certainly does not help to tame the massive waves that rise from the sea of the Century trying to overturn Peter's ship . Pope Francis, Jesuit and Argentine, is a Peronist and therefore a natural oscillator so to speak. But this time perhaps it's something else. Bergoglio has sensed the profound discontent that his recent overtures have caused in the bishops who are the basis of the Catholic Church. For conservatives the limit is full. They accuse him of distorting the Gospel and the Scriptures every day, pursuing politics more than Faith. They accuse him of carrying out a process of disintegration of Christian values and which is therefore coupled with an attack on the values of the West, on which our society is based.
The recent case of the conservative American cardinal Raymond Leo Burke who at the age of 75 was deprived of room and board for having criticized the Pope on a doctrinal level is illustrative. An example is the persecution to which Father Georg is subjected for the sole fact of having been the private secretary of Pope Benedict XVI, a conservative Pope that many regret.
