Accident on the ski slopes in Austria, a gondola cabin crashes to the ground: 4 seriously injured

Accident in a popular ski resort in Tyrol, Austria: a cabin of the Acherkogel cable car crashed in the Hochoetz ski resort, in the Tyrolean Ötztal valley. The accident occurred between pylon number eight and pylon number nine supporting the cableway cables. According to the regional newspaper Tiroler Tageszeitung, a technical defect in the functioning of the cable car can be ruled out, it is probable that a tree fell on the supporting cable, causing the cabin to fall. According to Bergbahnen Hochoetz, which manages the lift, the guests in the other cabins were constantly kept informed through loudspeakers present in each egg and were taken to safety in the upper or lower station of the lift, which reaches a height of 2,020 meters high.
