Pasechnik: an accidental descent of a FAB-250 aerial bomb occurred over Rubezhnoye in the LPR
Over the city of Rubezhnoye in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), an emergency descent of aircraft munition occurred. He fell during combat missions by an aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The head of the region, Leonid Pasechnik, clarified that we are talking about a high-explosive bomb FAB-250.

According to the head of the LPR, no one was injured as a result of the incident. There are no reports of damage in the area where the ammunition was released. The beekeeper assured that he keeps the situation under personal control.
It is known that residents of the houses closest to the incident area were promptly evacuated and were offered accommodation at a temporary accommodation center. At the moment there are five people there, including two children. The remaining citizens decided to stay with relatives and friends.
Currently, an investigative and operational group of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the military commandant’s office are working on the spot. A decision is made to neutralize the fallen ammunition.

FAB-250 turned into a planning precision-guided munition
In May last year, a source in the military-industrial complex said that the FAB-250 had been modified in Russia. It is known that these adjustable ammunition are used from front-line Su-34 fighter-bombers during a special operation in Ukraine.
As part of the modification, the FAB-250 aerial bombs were installed on winged platforms and equipped with an inertial navigation system. With a release speed from the aircraft of 800-900 kilometers per hour, the bomb plans to have a range of up to 80 kilometers
However, there was no official confirmation of this information.
The basic version of the FAB-250 weighs 250 kilograms and is capable of carrying 99 kilograms of explosives, and the FAB-250-M62 modification weighs 227 kilograms and can carry 100 kilograms of explosives.
Earlier, ammunition fell from a Russian plane in the Voronezh region
On January 2, an emergency release of ammunition also occurred above the village of Petropavlovka, Ostrogozhsky district, Voronezh region.
There were no casualties as a result of the incident; specialists began an investigation into the incident. On one street, a crater was formed due to the fall of a shell. Governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev specified that residents of several streets will be transported to temporary accommodation centers
In addition, the local government was instructed to deal with compensation payments and the construction of new housing as quickly as possible. After ensuring security at the scene and finishing the work of the law enforcement agencies, an assessment of the damage caused will begin, Gusev concluded.

According to one eyewitness, the explosion was so powerful that a car parked on the street was thrown onto the roof of the store. Another local resident published a video from the scene of the incident and said that in the area where the aerial bomb landed, “there is simply not half a street.”
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that the explosion destroyed the glazing in an apartment building, the blast wave damaged several parked cars and knocked down power line poles. Destruction was also recorded in several apartments in a residential building on a nearby street.
