Kirkkonummi | The water heater exploded in the log house: two windows were broken

The explosion did not cause any injuries.

Water fireplace exploded in Kirkkonummi on Sunday around half past ten in the evening.

It was a closed water circulation system that was used to heat the house. In a water fireplace, the water is heated by burning wood. The house also had electric heating.

The on-duty fire marshal of the West Uusimaa rescue service Kim Lassila says that the house's water tank exploded and the front panel of the stove came off in an accident.

Two windows of the house were broken by the force of the explosion.

Explosion did not cause personal injury. The actual fire and water damage were also avoided, says Lassila.

The rescue service dismantled the fireplace and checked that no fire outbreaks were found.

Lassila does not comment on what caused the explosion. According to him, the fireplace has been in normal use.
