Journalism organization RSF holds Israel responsible for 'eradication of journalism in Gaza'
Journalism organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) calls Sunday's attack that killed Palestinian journalists Mustafa Thuria of AFP and Hamza Dahdouh of Al Jazeera “a massacre” and calls for “an end to this unbearable massacre.”
RSF Secretary General Christophe Deloire late on X know that they want to hold Israel responsible for “this eradication of journalism in Gaza.” In November, RSF had already announced that it would go to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
According to figures from RSF and other journalist organizations, 79 journalists have been killed by Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7. Hamza Dahdouh, one of Sunday's victims, is the eldest son of journalist Wael Dahdouh, who also works for Al Jazeera. He also lost his wife, daughter and a grandchild in an Israeli airstrike in October.
