Race report
Another spectacular race in Moto3 in Indonesian Grand Prixbut above all memorable for Diogo Moreira. Thanks to this victory, the Brazilian has in fact won the first success of his career in the MotoGP, bringing the colors of his nation back to the top step of the podium for the first time since 2005, i.e. since the last success of his compatriot Alex Barros . Moreira, in reality, spent most of the GP ‘far’ from the top of the standings, despite a good start which allowed him to maintain the leadership after the pole position achieved yesterday. However, already in the second round, #10 then lost the position on Daniel Holgadointending to recover the gap in the world championship standings on Masià, who in turn was relegated to seventh place after a less than brilliant start, but still better than Sasaki (even relegated to the back of the group for not having engaged the gear at the start) and Ortolà, penalized with a long lap for jump start. As often happened in Moto3, the race offered never-ending battles, especially in the second half, with a twist that occurred just over 5 laps from the end: Holgado, at that moment once again in the rear, in fact suffered a long lap penalty for a short cut, very similar to one committed previously by Moreira, which was however spared by the Race Direction. In all of this, it was Masià who took the greatest advantage, thus becoming the new leader of the ranking. Holgado, who returned to tenth position, then attempted a furious comeback during the last three laps, to the point of climbing back up to the podium area. However, during the penultimate lap, the Spaniard received another penalty for the same previous reason, i.e. for a short cut which occurred once again at turn 9. Having then not served the sanction, the KTM rider was given subtract 3 secondsreason for ninth final position. In the leading group, however, a real challenge broke out with overtaking and counter-overtaking until the last corner, with Moreira winning in front. David Alonso and David Munoz, with Masià only 6th. The latter, despite placing outside the top-5, still maintains the championship lead, extending it to 12 points over Holgado and 16 over Sasaki.
