The young man’s dreams were present throughout those years, until he was chosen to represent the Egyptian team in the World Weightlifting Championships that was recently held in Mexico, where he won 3 gold medals and broke the world record.
Mahmoud tells the scenes of the tournament for “Sky News Arabia”, saying: “I could not believe that I was able to break the record and achieved the three gold medals, this is what I dreamed of all my life.”
He continued, “I only hoped at the beginning to enter the national team camp, and now I have raised the flag of Egypt high, and God willing, the Egyptian national anthem will continue to be repeated nonstop in all international forums.”
14 assorted medals
The Egyptian team managed to win 14 different medals in the tournament, led by Mahmoud Hosni and the hero Rahma El-Sayed, with the first being crowned with the Best in the Tournament Cup.

I am good today and doing the exercises perfectly, here we must complete and not calm down because today One makes a big difference.”
And he added: “During the tournament, I was receiving praise from the technical directors, and they were assuring me that I was close to achieving a record. They believed in me and my abilities, and with the grace of God I was able to achieve what they wanted.”

He noted, “The bags that contained our things had not arrived yet, which made us wear and exercise the same clothes that we arrived in for more than a day. The exercises we do right before the tournament are to activate the body only, but the important exercises are before traveling from the beginning.” .

The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, congratulated Hosni and the rest of the heroes of the national talent project, stressing that the state adopts talented people within the national talent project, and will prepare them for various competitions.
