Mother warned that mental health is the basis for children’s superiority in their studies and their enjoyment of a positive personality, and gave several tips that must be focused on to prepare successful children:
1- Realism
Children go through different “happy and difficult” times just like adults, so be sure to ask a variety of questions about how they feel in general and then about their problems at school, with their friends and life.. Avoid being overly optimistic, but supportive and realistic, and let them know that some days will be easier than others and that they can do difficult things and overcome any problems.
2- listen
Make it a priority to communicate with your child, listen to what he cares about, what annoys him and what annoys him, and try not to ask too many questions but listen and watch how he responds to you.
3- Gains
Focusing on losses won’t teach your child anything positive, so focus on gains and achievements that can be celebrated, teaching them to become independent and spend more time with siblings or parents, as well as improving their use of technology.
4- Praise their efforts
Notice and praise their hard work, positive habits, and constant discipline, as these are the building blocks of success.
5- The four pillars
Relaxation, exercise, nutrition and sleep, are the four pillars of maintaining general and psychological health, so think of innovative solutions that suit your children, for example, schedule a fun mealtime.
6- Relationships
It is important for children to feel connected to their teachers and to other students, help them to have a sense of belonging, such as encouraging them to join a club or volunteer to help new students, and most important of all paying attention to them as they adjust, and noting any changes or signs of mental health.
