The Counter-Terrorism Service in Iraq revealed, on Saturday evening, that six members of the terrorist organization ISIS were killed in an air strike in the Hamrin mountain range in Salah al-Din Governorate, north of the capital, Baghdad.
A statement issued by the agency stated that among the dead was “Abu Maryam al-Qahtani… who was supervising assassinations and kidnappings of residents and security forces by setting up fake checkpoints near the areas surrounding the Hamrin Mountains.”
In its statement, the Counter-Terrorism Service reiterated that it “continues to protect Iraq and its people from the threat of terrorism.”
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, on Saturday, that Iraqi warplanes carried out air strikes targeting a gathering of the extremist organization ISIS.
And the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in the ministry stated, in a press statement, that its teams monitored the movements of ISIS terrorist elements, including leaders.
As a result, the planes of the Iraqi Air Force carried out an air strike targeting their whereabouts.
