Back on track
Almost two weeks after the success of the #83 Ferrari of Kubica, Shwartzman and Ye in the 6 Hours of Austin, the teams and drivers participating in the Endurance World Championship are ready to restart their engines this weekend in the Far East. From the United States, in fact, they will land in Japan for the 6 Hours of Fujipenultimate event of the 2024 season.
The ranking situations
The championship is getting closer and closer to its conclusion, with the trio Lotterer, Vanthoor and Estre which, in addition to aiming for victory to extend its lead in the Drivers’ standings, will try to reopen the fight for the Constructors’ world championship, with the Toyota currently leader and winner last year in its home race. A statement that allowed the Japanese manufacturer to mathematically win the championship, with Porsche and Ferrari currently behind them and who will try to keep the games open until the last appointment in Bahrain, scheduled for early November. The Stuttgart manufacturer instead enjoys a good advantage in the LMGT3 class with the team’s standard-bearers Manthey PureRxcing #92 Bachler, Sturm and Malykhin, 28 points ahead of the other Porsche 911 GT3 R of Lietz, Shahin and Schuring.
Schedule and live TV
To follow the practice sessions and the race live on TV or streaming, Italian fans will necessarily have to set their alarms at night or early in the morning due to the time zone. The only exception will be for the first two Free Practice sessions on Friday, which as usual will only be available live timing on the official website of the competition, without any television broadcast. The situation is different from Free Practice 3 onwards, with the arrival of Discovery+, Eurosport 1 and the latter’s app for live streaming, without forgetting fiawec.tv. For the competition, live broadcasts are also added on Sky Sport Arena and NOW Tv.
