The Burkina Faso army command announced today, Thursday, that two soldiers and four civilian volunteers were killed in clashes with terrorists.
In a statement, the army said that a soldier and four volunteers of the “Volunteers for the Defense of the Land of the Ancestral” organization were killed today, Thursday, in the northern town of Dijbo in Soum province.
He added that eight soldiers were wounded and at least seven terrorists were killed.
The statement also said that a reconnaissance unit in northwestern Burkina Faso clashed on Wednesday with “terrorists” in Gomboro, Soro region, where an officer was killed.
Burkina Faso is witnessing attacks carried out by terrorist groups spread in the African Sahel region.
The attacks, which were carried out mainly by groups linked to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and ISIS, resulted in the deaths of more than two thousand people and the displacement of about 1.8 million from their homes.

Tidiane Gibrilo Dicko was on the wanted list distributed by the armed forces in early May, along with 46 other terrorists.
