The Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games Club is organizing a competitive refresher tournament for players 16 years and under at the club’s headquarters, within the framework of its keenness to continue its activities and maintain the technical level of the players. Participation in it is limited to 50 players only, coinciding with the fiftieth year, and the tournament is held on the fast chess system. 7 rounds, with a time of 10 minutes plus five seconds for each move played.
Suhail Abdul Rahim Al-Awadi, a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Technical Committee, confirmed that the subscription door is available to the first 50 players who register to participate, stressing the need to maintain distance, in compliance with preventive and precautionary measures.
It is expected that a group of distinguished club players in the junior category, in addition to the Abu Dhabi International Chess Academy players residing in the country, face to face after a long series of tournaments organized by the club at the local and international levels remotely during the pandemic period. It is noteworthy that the club’s board of directors had decided to re-launch the 27th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Festival next December, after a two-year hiatus, and the club began arrangements for the event, which is close to completing its third contract, and attracts the elite of the game’s stars in the world with its great reputation that it has gained over the years long.
