Tigres is one of the most complete rosters in Liga MX, however, it seems that the team is aging in some positions on the field and that it needs to start with its generational change. The whole of the UANL, under the orders of Miguel Herrera, has started a new stage and one of the priorities is to renew the campus.
The cats need to think about certain positions that have given them some trouble in the last year and have to target younger and more experienced players. These are five players who would like Tigres wonderfully:
The 19-year-old central defender is one of the great prospects in Mexican soccer. The Xolos de Tijuana footballer could be a great addition to the Tigres squad if we take into account that feline defenders like Diego Reyes, Hugo Ayala and even Guido Pizarro are already veterans and that Carlos Salcedo is looking to return to European football. Víctor Guzmán can be an important piece in the Monterrey team.
The 26-year-old Brazilian defender is one of the best center-backs in Liga MX. Matheus Doria would be a great addition to the Tigers’ defensive line. The former Olympique de Marseille, Sao Paulo and Granada footballer may be the leader that the UANL team needs for the following years.
The ‘Chicote’ Calderón has been the object of the Tigres’ desire for some seasons. The left back has not had a good time at Chivas and could leave the institution in winter. Calderón is only 24 years old and continues to be a bet for the future. With the UANL team, he could resume that great level that was known to him in Necaxa. That position is currently disputed by Javier Aquino and Jesús Dueñas, two veterans, and Francisco Venegas, who has not been able to consolidate himself.
The Guadalajara Atlas winger could be a great reinforcement for Tigres. The 21-year-old footballer has had an upward performance in the last year and is ready for a new challenge. Given the aging of the UANL team, Jairo Torres would be an injection of youth and talent.
Tigres must prepare for the goodbye of André Pierre Gignac. The French forward is 35 years old and it seems that his farewell will be sooner rather than later. Juan Ignacio Dinenno, from Pumas, could be an option to rejuvenate the UANL lead. Dinenno has shown his scoring ability since he arrived in Liga MX.
