Real Madrid returned to the top of Spanish football, winning the “La Liga” title for the 36th time. Although the team faced difficult circumstances, it succeeded in overcoming them, between the injuries that struck its most prominent players, and the departure of Frenchman Karim Benzema, its top scorer last season, and even imposed its dominance over the club. “El Clásico” with two wins over Barcelona, amid great brilliance from English summer signing Jude Bellingham.
The first reason is due to the ability of the “Blancos” to achieve positive results, and they lost only once away from home, and collected 40 points out of 51 available away from their bases, while they did not know a loss at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, and the total reached 14 victories in 16 matches.
The second reason lies in the influence of Jude Bellingham, who achieved great success. The player scored 10 goals in his first 11 matches in La Liga, and he succeeded in imposing himself in the Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti’s squad behind the strikers, to now reach 18 goals, and remain in the circle. Competing for the title of top scorer of the season, he became one of the best midfielders in world football at the age of 20.
The third reason is Real Madrid’s ability to deal with injuries, and the season witnessed the absence of first goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, and key defenders David Alaba and Eder Militao most of the time, due to long-term injuries that harmed the team.
Meanwhile, players such as Andriy Lunin, Antonio Rudiger, Nacho Fernandez and Aurelien Chouamini stood out in leading Real Madrid to success.
The fourth reason is that one of the champion’s characteristics is his ability to outperform competitors at critical times in matches, to deal them a morale blow in the title race.
The fifth reason came thanks to the absolute superiority in the “El Clásico”, and two goals from Bellingham contributed to leading the “Royal Club” to two victories against the “Blaugrana” this season in the league.
In the beginning, Bellingham shined in the first match, at Barcelona in October, after he equalized with a long-range shot, 22 minutes before the end of the match, followed by the decisive second goal in stoppage time, and then the second confrontation in the league between the two teams was held at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium last April, and Bellingham scored the winning goal in the first minute of stoppage time, in Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over the Catalans.
