A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck western Nepal this Friday, without the authorities having reported victims or material damage for the moment.
The earthquake was recorded at 11:47 p.m. local time (6:02 p.m. GMT) at a depth of 18 kilometers and with its epicenter in the Jumla district, a mountainous region of the Nepalese province of Karnali, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). ).

Authorities have indicated that the earthquake has left at least 125 dead and hundreds more injured, and the numbers are expected to increase, authorities said.
The tremors could also be felt in northern Indiaincluding the capital, according to local media, without any victims or damages being recorded.
In this sense, the National Center for Seismology of India estimated that the magnitude of the earthquake amounted to 6.4.
Nepal is among the countries most prone to natural disasters and has a very vulnerable population, mostly poor, in addition to lacking sufficient infrastructure to deal with floods or earthquakes.
