A group of 38 PEC Zwolle supporters was arrested in Eindhoven on Saturday evening around 8 p.m. and taken by bus to the police station.
The large group of supporters stood outside a cafe opposite the Aldi in Stratum and the police had “information that they were seeking a confrontation.” When the officers arrived, the supporters turned against the police, after which they were arrested. Batons were used.
A Bravo bus, containing passengers on their way to Valkenswaard, was pulled over by the police in the parking lot of the Aldi branch on Aalsterweg. The bus has been requisitioned because no riot police bus was available at such short notice. The occupants had to get out, after which the supporters were led into the bus. From there they were taken to the police station.
It is unknown why the supporters turned against the police during the check.
The PSV – PEC Zwolle match started at 9 p.m.
