A truck driver filed a lawsuit against another who insulted him in an audio recording via a WhatsApp group, which includes 250 truck drivers. The plaintiff stated that the defendant sent an audio recording and messages via a WhatsApp group containing insulting statements against him and his professional and personal reputation, which exposed him to moral, psychological, and material damage, including litigation expenses and attorney fees.
The ruling of a civil court of first instance stated that it was proven in the papers that the defendant published pictures of the plaintiff when he was a worker, and after he became an employer, and also published an audio recording insulting the plaintiff, on a group in the “WhatsApp” application special for truck drivers, which is the same. The plaintiff’s field of work is in transportation, and therefore the court refrains from violating the criminal ruling, and must abide by it, and adhere to what it has decided in a necessary chapter, which is the common basis between the criminal and civil lawsuits, and the criminal ruling is a final chapter in the assault on the sanctity of the plaintiff’s private life.
