In the last weeks, Nickelodeon has been embroiled in a series of controversies after Jennette McCurdy, best known for playing Sam in icarlypublished his book, I’m Glad my Mom Died, where he spoke about the cases of inappropriate behavior carried out by Dan Schneider, producer of multiple shows in this company. Now, It was recently revealed that a star of Zoey 101 has joined these protests.
Since the release of the book, Nickelodeon facilities have been surrounded by people who have protested Schneider’s behavior, as well as the work environment for minors. Now, These claims have been joined by Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole Bristow in Zoey 101.
In an interview with TMZ, Nikolas noted that she “didn’t feel safe” when she worked with Nickelodeon. Similarly, she has mentioned that was pressured to drink at 18, received unwanted massages from an executive, and offered him money to talk about these issues. Along with this, he called his entire experience with the company “traumatic.”
Unfortunately, he has also mentioned that stories of alleged abuse are all too familiar to other child stars. Nevertheless, hopes that in the future the company can redeem itself, but notes that Nickelodeon has not yet responded to the accusations from McCurdy or herself, nor has it announced whether any action will be taken.
