This Thursday, Volodymyr Zelensky launched an invitation to the heads of State and Government of countries around the world to participate in a conference that will take place on June 15 and 16 in the Swiss city of Burgenstock, where he intends to establish the foundations of a “just and lasting” future peace in Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter and International Law.
The president noted in his X account that he was sure that “any nation that loves peace in this world is interested in attending the summit because its relevance extends beyond Ukraine.” «It is about genuine respect for International Law and peaceful coexistence around the world. These common values, highlighted in the UN Charter, protect all countries from attacks and violence. That is why it is our responsibility to protect them through real action and not just words,” he added.
The Swiss authorities pointed out that without Russia’s participation the conflict cannot be resolved and stressed that Moscow “must join” the peace process. “The conference is called to begin the peace process,” they indicated. Moscow has not yet received an invitation to participate in the event.
