Zarco and the Honda challenge
Uncertain about his future in the Ducati Pramac team, Johann Zarco decided to extend his career for another two years by accepting the offer of Honda LCR, he was aware that he would find himself in a situation that was anything but simple.
After 7 Sprints and 7 Grand Prix Zarco has only scraped by 8 points, with two 12th places in Qatar and France as the peaks of a substantially colorless championship. It must be acknowledged, however, that among the four Honda riders only Joan Mir brought home more points than him, thirteen.
Zarco’s thoughts
On the sidelines of the recent and disappointing Mugello race, Johann Zarco admitted that Marquez’s talent often hid obvious difficulties of the RC213V: “Marc Marquez compensated for the bike’s problems very well, but we’re not all like him. On the contrary, maybe it’s better not to be like Marc in understanding the bike’s problems and making up for the weak points“, before bitterly analyzing: “We still have to take small steps to get back into the points, but we have to set ourselves smaller goals so as not to lose motivation.”
