Zakharova: the prerequisites for resuming dialogue with the West are not visible
At the moment, there are no prerequisites for dialogue and normalization of relations with Western countries. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, reports TASS.
She noted that the ruling elites in the West believed in “their own propaganda and myths about the threat posed by Russia,” and therefore chose an “aggressive, confrontational course towards” Russia. The diplomat emphasized that European leaders follow the US course on this issue and “are not even aware of the risks of a direct clash with Russia.”
According to Zakharova, it will be possible to return to the issue of restoring interaction with Europe after the goals of the special military operation are achieved, and leaders appear in the West “able to defend their own national interests, capable of understanding the importance of substantive dialogue while respecting Russian interests.”
Earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the West rejects the in-depth dialogue that the world situation requires.
