Jordanian Zaid Mustafa expressed his happiness after winning the silver medal in Taekwondo in the 68 kg weight category.
Zaid Mustafa lost in the final to Uzbek Ulugbek Rashitov, in two sets to none, to win the silver medal.
He told the German News Agency that he could not describe his feelings after concluding a long journey and arduous preparations by winning the silver medal.
Zaid Mustafa thanked everyone who helped and supported him during the preparations for the Olympics, including all the coaches and the Jordanian Olympic Committee.
He also dedicated the silver medal to his mother, who he confirmed supported him throughout his career, and pointed out that he was unable to attend his university graduation ceremony due to his preoccupation with the Olympic competitions.
Zaid Mustafa promised to perform better and win the gold medal at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. He also expressed his pride in being the first Jordanian to win a medal at the Youth and Senior Olympics.
Zaid Mustafa concluded his statements by saying that he did not achieve his dream of hearing the Jordanian national anthem, because he did not achieve first place, but he did not hide his happiness at winning the silver medal.
