Juan Pablo “N”, 23 years oldwas arrested by the authorities of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) and the Municipal Police of Naucalpan de Juárezin relation to a fire which he allegedly caused in a pasture in that town.
The action was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into possible deliberate fires in green areas of Naucalpan and its surroundings.
The arrest took place on the federal highway towards Toluca-Mexico, specifically at kilometer 16.5 of Barrio Arenillas.
According to preliminary reports, Juan Pablo “N” would have used a liquid substance, possibly gasolineto start the fire in the grassland, which was controlled by the Civil Protection and Firefighters teams in the area.
The individual was presented before the Agent of the Public Ministry, who is in charge of the investigation for alleged Crimes against the environment. They have seized a bottle containing liquid presumably gasoline, a lighter and cigarettes as part of the evidence.
The FGJEM has asked the population to report it to the relevant authorities if they have information about their involvement in other criminal acts.
