Microsoft has stopped the trial offer of 1 euro/dollar for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The low-cost trial phase has been available for years, with only short periods during which it was unavailable in some markets, but now it appears that Microsoft is evaluating new promotions, as officially stated by the company.
“We have discontinued our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating various marketing promotions for new members in the future,” said Kari Perez, head of global communications at Xboxin a statement to The Verge.
What are these new marketing promotions it is not clear at the moment. However, we know that Microsoft has also been working on the Friends & Family plan for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The plan lets you share exclusive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate features with up to four other friends or family members. The price in Ireland is set at €21.99 per month.
Microsoft recently extended the plan Friends & Family in New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Hungary, Israel and Sweden, but is not yet available in many European markets or in the UK and US. The removal of the 1 euro trial period could be a sign that Microsoft is preparing to expand Friends & Family even further, after testing this new subscription for less than a year in some specific markets.
We’ll have to wait and see how the company will continue to promote Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. One thing is certain, Xbox Game Pass guarantees players, money and exposure for the founder of No More Robots.
