The issue of fan toxicity has returned to the spotlight in recent days, with some users harassing Sony Santa Monica and Ron Gilbert (creator of Monkey Island).
In the specific case of Sony Santa Monica, we have seen some fans even send explicit photos to the developers in exchange for information on God of War Ragnarok.
These behaviors were also noticed by Xboxwho decided to comment on what happened. Aaron Greenberg Microsoft posted a message, echoing Sony Santa Monica’s tweet, in which it stated: “it’s always good to remember and respect the real human beings who work hard to create the games we all love“.

The Xbox executive’s message, ending with green and blue hearts (the colors of Xbox and PlayStation), was also appreciated by Cory Barlog who a few days ago had condemned these types of behaviors.
Speaking of the case of Return to Monkey Island, the fierce criticism following the reveal prompted Ron Gilbert to decide not to publish more updates.
