X-Men ’97Marvel’s animated series, has been a success and viewers can’t wait to see the second season. However, a Marvel executive stressed that fans will have to be patient because it takes time to create a product of this type.
Speaking with ComicBook, the head of Marvel’s streaming division, Brad Winderbaumstated that the second season is currently being animated.
“Animation takes a long time to make, as I’m sure you know,” Winderbaum said. “There was a great piece on this thing in the second season of Invincible. They did it so well that it’s the best. And it takes a long time. Because the studio wants to see how successful the first season is before they give the go-ahead free to the second, there is a delay. We were lucky enough to get the green light before the broadcast, so perhaps there is less delay people will have to be patient with us.”
We remind you that, although it has already been confirmed, X-Men ’97 Season 2 doesn’t have a release window yet.
The showrunner of X-Men ’97 has been fired
The second season is highly anticipated, but there is a negative note linked to its production: the showrunner has been fired. Let’s talk about Beau DeMayo, who worked on the first season and recently spoke about what happened, although it is not known why he was removed.
“I wrote a lot about season two,” DeMayo said. “However, unlike Season 1, I will not be heavily involved or in charge of the production, cast recordings, design, editorial, post, music, etc. and will not be doing any rewrites of the production as it pertains to viewing creator of the show”.
“That’s why I said I can’t talk about season two,” he added. “But I can’t wait to see the final product with all of you when it airs. I have high hopes.”
