The WRC is preparing to take part in the fourth round of the 2024 season this weekend, the Rally of Croatia, but Toyota Gazoo Racing has also revealed its driver line-up for the following event, the Rally of Portugal over the last few hours , which will be held from 9 to 12 May.
This is an interesting line up because it is the best possible, the one that will include the 2-time reigning world champion Kalle Rovanpera navigated by the usual Jonne Halttunen, the 8-time world champion Sébastien Ogier navigated by Vincent Landais alongside the titular driver Elfyn Evans, sailed by Scott Martin.
Takamoto Katsuta will also be at the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, thus completing the quartet of official Japanese cars at the start of the fifth event of the season, although he will not be indicated as a driver capable of bringing home points valid for the Manufacturers' Championship.

Sébastien Ogier, meanwhile, will return to racing this weekend at the Croatian Rally, returning to the wheel of the number 17 GR Yaris Rally1 after doing so in the opening race of the season, the Rallye Monte-Carlo.
“I enjoyed the rest after Monte-Carlo and now I'm very happy to be racing again,” said the Frenchman. “The test I did last week was useful to get back to feeling with the car, because we will have to face challenging roads: they will be fast, with jumps and very narrow sections. Furthermore, we know well that the weather could be uncertain”.
“We won't have an ideal starting position for the asphalt rallies, so we'll have to see what conditions we will find in the special stages. My goal is to fight for the podium and try to win, but I'm also here to help the team. And With the new weekend points system, we can see how Sundays have become more important than ever.”
